QInsight: Have you considered a career in the Civil Service?

Are you interested in a career with the Civil Service, but daunted by the application process? Or perhaps you’ve thought about a Civil Service career but just aren’t sure if it’s the right path for you? Or maybe you are interested in lots of big graduate schemes but are confused about how to approach their recruitment process?

QInsight Visit to No. 10- 20.10.17

QInsight is a Careers & Enterprise scheme that partners with a prestigious graduate recruiter to develop a series of sessions that allow you to increase your commercial awareness of the host organisation, get tips and practice their rigorous graduate recruitment processes and network with both recent graduates and senior members of staff. The over-arching goal of QInsight is to increase your success in graduate application processes, whatever the role and sector.  We are pleased to confirm that the Civil Service will be hosting QInsight again in 2018-19.

What will QInsight involve?

You will attend information sessions, interactive workshops and mock assessments led by the Civil Service as well as visit their offices, where networking is facilitated. You will also receive pre and post scheme support from Careers & Enterprise staff who will give you tools to get the most out of the sessions as well as help you reflect on your experience at the end of the programme and identify next steps.

Students who complete the scheme will increase their knowledge of the Civil Service and experience of common graduate selection methods, professional networking and commercial awareness.

What is the commitment?

QInsight will take place on Wednesday afternoons and the scheme is a semester long.

What have past student participants said?

“The highlight was the trips to places as it makes it more interesting and realistic as you can imagine the setting and types of people you’d meet. Meeting the actual people from the civil service and asking for their honest insight into the roles ahead.”

“It made me realise I definitely want to become a Civil servant; the trip was really inspiring; feel more confident on the assessments; nice fast streamers and leader”

“[QInsight] was very well run and the opportunity to listen to speakers who are currently working within the Civil Service was very interesting. There was a good amount of feedback given and the presentations were very clear.”

“The breakdown of the assessment centre helped me become more confident to attend assessment centres now.”

How can I apply?
